Orthotic Sandal Company
Orthotic Sandals allow the feet and ankles to function in an efficient manner. They are
designed to support your foot structure and keep the alignment of your foot as close to
neutral as possible. Our sandals are made from soft low impact materials that will
provide comfort and proper function, allowing the entire body to have less stress during
walking.
Orthotic Sandals assist in the control of excess motion of the heel area (subtalar joint),
allowing the foot to have a proper heel strike while walking. The human foot has over
100 moving parts and they all need to work together harmoniously in order for us to
function comfortably. Orthotic Sandals help correct biomechanical defects such as
pronation (a rolling in of the foot that can cause discomfort in the ankles, knees, hips
and back).
As the body lines itself in a more neutral manner, less overall stress and strain is
applied to various structures. If an injury already exists and healing needs assistance,
orthotic sandals provide a more harmonious movement pattern of the lower legs while
walking, which can have a positive relationship with the entire body.

Normal walking has a specific sequence of movements, which involves all weight
bearing joints in a synchronous manner. When walking (gait) is abnormal, the weight
bearing joints have excess stress and torque, creating overuse and repetitive strain
injuries. Orthotics are used to assist in the correction of faulty gait mechanics by
aligning the foot as close to it’s neutral position as possible, thus allowing for correct
alignment of ankles, knees, hips and spine. This corrected position of the body allows
the muscles to respond more efficiently, with less overall stress and strain to the body.
For those of you who already wear orthotics in your closed shoes, you know the positive
impact they have had on your body. But often there is a need for an open toe shoe.
Hence an orthotic sandal with the same type of correction you are wearing already in
your closed shoe. This allows the body to continue it's correction with a sandal as
another shoe option for you. Many people wear sandals either seasonally, year round,
or simply as a "house shoe". Orthotic Sandals give you this option with a variety of style
types. See more detail on SANDAL styles
